Buying & downloads

What do I actually get?

Digital files you download, usually an Excel workbook (.xlsx) with a sample version and a blank version, plus a short PDF setup guide. Each product page lists exactly what's included.

How do I get my files after I buy?

Straight after payment, Gumroad shows a download page and emails you a receipt with the download link. You don't need to make an account. If you do have a Gumroad account, your purchases are also saved in your Gumroad Library.

I can't find my download email.

Check your spam or promotions folder for an email from Gumroad. Still nothing? Email us with the address you used at checkout and we'll resend it.

How do I pay?

Checkout is handled securely by Gumroad, which accepts major cards and PayPal (and often Apple Pay or Google Pay, depending on your device). We never see your card details.

Is GST included?

Gumroad is the seller of record for checkout and adds GST where it applies. You'll see the final total before you pay, and Gumroad emails you a receipt.

Why is the price in Australian dollars?

Because the tools are made for Australians, with AUD amounts, Australian dates and Australian bill cycles. If you're overseas, your bank will convert the price.

Using the tools

Do I need Microsoft Excel?

No. You can use Excel 2010 or later (Windows or Mac, no Microsoft 365 subscription needed) or Google Sheets, which is free with a Google account.

How do I open it in Google Sheets?

Upload the .xlsx file to Google Drive, then open it with Google Sheets. Go to File → Settings → Locale → Australia so dates show as dd/mm/yyyy. A few extras like pop-up cell notes and sheet links work best in Excel, but the formulas, drop-downs and charts all carry over.

Does it work on my phone or tablet?

You can view it, but it's much easier on a computer. There's a lot of detail to see, and typing into small cells on a phone is fiddly. Apple Numbers isn't officially supported.

I can't type in some cells. Is it broken?

Nope, that's on purpose. Only the yellow cells are for typing. Everything else is a formula, protected so it can't be wiped by accident. The protection has no password, so if you want to customise things in Excel, go to Review → Unprotect Sheet.

Will I get updates?

If we fix a bug or improve a tool, we'll upload the new version to Gumroad. You can download it again from your receipt email or Gumroad Library at no extra cost.

Can I share it with my partner or housemates?

Use it for your own household, and that's fine. Please don't resell it, upload it, or pass the file on to other people. Small shops like this one only work if people buy their own copy. Thank you!

Money & privacy

Is this financial advice?

No. FairMark Studio tools are budgeting and planning tools that give general information only. They don't consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. The results are estimates based on what you enter. For advice about your own situation, talk to a licensed financial adviser or a free financial counsellor.

Can you see my numbers?

No. The files live on your computer or in your own Google Drive. Nothing you type is sent to us. We don't need your bank login, ever.

Snowball or avalanche: which is better?

Avalanche (highest interest first) usually saves the most interest. Snowball (smallest balance first) gives you quicker wins, and those can keep you motivated. The best one is the one you'll stick with. The planner shows both so you can compare.

I'm really struggling with debt. What should I do?

Please reach out to the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 (ndh.org.au). It's free, independent and confidential, and financial counsellors can talk to your creditors with you. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can also call Mob Strong Debt Help on 1800 808 488. ASIC's Moneysmart website has free guides too.

Refunds & help

Can I get a refund?

Because these are instant digital downloads, we don't offer refunds for change of mind. If a file is faulty (it won't open, or something isn't working as described), email us and we'll fix it or refund you. This doesn't limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law. See the full Refund policy.

How do I contact you?

Email hello@fairmarkstudio.com. We usually reply within 2 business days.

Do you make custom spreadsheets?

Not at the moment. But if there's a tool you'd love to see, tell us. Reader requests shape what we build next.

Doing it tough? You don't have to sort it out alone. The National Debt Helpline is free, independent and confidential: 1800 007 007 (ndh.org.au).
